Cable glitch switches religious program to racy ad

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A Philadelphia cable network’s early morning broadcast of a Good Friday service at the Vatican abruptly changed to something wildly different — a 30-second “Girls Gone Wild” ad.

Comcast spokesman Jeff Alexander says the 2 a.m. Friday programming glitch was due to a required test of the Emergency Alert System. He says such tests are usually done in the overnight hours.

The test automatically tunes viewers to a preselected channel that would provide information in the event of an emergency. But during tests, the channel airs regular programming, which in this case included a paid advertisement for the racy videos.

Alexander says the problem affected the network’s entire local area, but only one person called to complain.

In China, where an estimated 700,000 people are HIV positive, authorities are targeting the country’s 200 million migrant workers, the backbone of the Chinese economy, who are among the most vulnerable to HIV/AIDS.

(AP) Won’t kiss on the first date? How about waiting until marriage?

Chicagoans Melody LaLuz and Claudaniel Fabien shared their first kiss Saturday at the altar. The two teach abstinence at the city’s public schools and practiced what they preached to their teenage students.

The Chicago Tribune reports that the couple had never kissed and that they had never been alone together in a house.

— In Oblong, Illinois, it’s punishable by law to make love while

— In Minnesota, it is illegal for any man to have sexual intercourse
with a live fish. (Apparently it’s OK for woman.)

— No man is allowed to make love to his wife with the smell of garlic,
onions, or sardines on his breath in Alexandria, Minnesota. If his wife
so requests, law mandates that he must brush his teeth.

— Warn your hubby that after lovemaking in Ames, Iowa, he isn’t
allowed to take more than three gulps of beer while lying in bed with
you — or holding you in his arms.

— Bozeman, Montana, has a law that bans all sexual activity between
members of the opposite sex in the front yard of a home after sundown —
if they’re nude.

— In hotels in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, every room is required to
have twin beds. And the beds must always be a minimum of two feet apart
when a couple rents a room for only one night. And it’s illegal to make
love on the floor between the beds!

— The owner of every hotel in Hastings, Nebraska, is required to
provide each guest with a clean and pressed nightshirt. No couple, even
if they are married, may sleep together in the nude. Nor may they have
sex unless they are wearing one of these clean, white cotton
nightshirts.

— An ordinance in Newcastle, Wyoming, specifically bans couples from
having sex while standing inside a store’s walk-in meat freezer!

— A state law in Illinois mandates that all bachelors should be called
master, not mister, when addressed by their female counterparts.

— In Romboch, Virginia, it is illegal to engage in sexual activity
with the lights on.

— In Merryville, Missouri, women are prohibited from wearing corsets
because “the privilege of admiring the curvaceous, unencumbered body of
a young woman should not be denied to the normal, red-blooded American
male.”

— It’s safe to make love while parked in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Police
officers aren’t allowed to walk up and knock on the window. Any
suspicious officer who thinks that sex is taking place must drive up
from behind, honk his horn three times and wait approximately two
minutes before getting out of his car to investigate.

— A law in Helena, Montana, mandates that a woman can’t dance on a
table in a saloon or bar unless she has on at least three pounds, two
ounces of clothing. (Ouch! These pasties hurt!)

— Anywhere in the U.S., it’s illegal to use any live endangered
species, excepting insects, in public or private sexual displays, shows
or exhibits depicting cross-species sex. (Insectophiles apparently were
successful in their lobbying efforts.)

— Lovers in Liberty Corner, New Jersey, should avoid satisfying their
lustful urges in a parked car. If the horn accidentally sounds while
they are frolicking behind the wheel, the couple can face a jail term.

— In Carlsbad, New Mexico, it’s legal for couples to have sex in a
parked vehicle during their lunch break from work, as long as the car or
van has drawn curtains to stop strangers from peeking in.

— Women aren’t allowed to wear patent-leather shoes in Cleveland, Ohio
- a man might see the reflection of something “he oughtn’t!”

— No woman may have sex with a man while riding in an ambulance within
the boundaries of Tremonton, Utah. If caught, the woman can be charged
with a sexual misdemeanor and “her name is to be published in the local
newspaper.” The man isn’t charged nor is his name revealed.

— It is illegal for any member of the Nevada Legislature to conduct
official business wearing a penis costume while the legislature is in
session.

LONDON (AP) — A virtual affair is ending a real-life marriage in southwest England.

Amy Taylor filed for divorce when she discovered her husband cheating in Second Life — an online community where players adopt personas called avatars, mingle with others and teleport themselves into a series of artificial worlds.

“I caught him cuddling a woman on a sofa in the game,” Taylor told the South West News Service press agency. “It looked really affectionate. He confessed he’d been talking to this woman player in America for one or two weeks, and said our marriage was over and he didn’t love me any more.”

The online drama shows how emotionally invested some people have become in their virtual identities, said Ellen Helsper, a researcher at the Oxford Internet Institute who has studied the impact of the Web on relationships.

“For a while there was this impression that as long as it’s online, it doesn’t matter. But research has shown it’s not a separate world,” she said, adding that infidelity was “just as painful, whether it’s electronic or physical.”

Taylor, 28, moved in with her husband Dave Pollard, 40, in Newquay, about 280 miles (450 kilometers) west of London, after the pair met in a chat room in 2003, according to the press agency’s account. Both are disabled, Taylor said.

Both of them created personalities in Second Life, the three-dimensional virtual world with millions of users.

Taylor — represented in the game by a slim, dark-haired young woman with a penchant for cowboy outfits — first wed her beloved in a virtual ceremony held in an exotic tropical setting. Elderly men to get free Viagra in Mexico City

MEXICO CITY, Mexico (CNN) — Beginning December 1, Mexico City plans to hand out free medicine to elderly men with erectile dysfunction, the local government said.
Medications such as Viagra, Levitra or Cialis reportedly will be offered under medical supervision.

“Everyone has the right to be happy,” said Marcelo Ebrard Casaubon, governor of the federal district that encompasses the Mexican capital.

“We have to protect people — senior citizens above all,” he said in a statement Thursday. “Many of them are abandoned and lack money. They don’t have medical services, and a society that doesn’t care for its senior citizens has no dignity.” Free Viagra in Mexico City – Read More Here

Prophylactics swiped from Mexico condom-mobile

Missing in Mexico: 5,000 condoms, sound equipment and a motor used to inflate a giant prophylactic, all stolen from a “condom-mobile” used to promote HIV/AIDS awareness.

The coordinator of an HIV/AIDS awareness tour, Polo Gomez, said the truck was taken Sunday from its parking spot in front of a friend’s house in Mexico City.

It was recovered Wednesday in a shopping mall parking lot in a northern suburb — minus the condoms and the equipment. Gomez said the thieves left some 800 HIV tests and a 23-foot inflatable prophylactic, which were also in the vehicle.

The truck wasn’t hard to locate. It features painted images of a peeled banana, the exposed part shaped like a condom, and a shirtless man saying: “I protect myself. Do you?” Read More Here
